Scarecrow & Mrs. King: The Complete Fourth Season

Scarecrow and Mrs. King
Yes, some would wonder why I rate Scarecrow and Mrs. King at five stars. True, some of the plots are a little corny and trite; true, the eighties-style wardrobe can get a little garish; true, some of the sets aren't the best; however, the acting and the dialogue amply make up for any trivial shortcomings antagonists of Scarecrow and Mrs. King can contrive. Shakugan no Shana S: OVA Series (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

(3.5 Stars) "Shakugan no Shana S: OVA Series" features four episodes about how Shana has been affected by living among humans.
In 2002, Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrator Noizi Ito created the Japanese light novel series "Shana".

Published by ASCII Media Works from 2002 through 2011, the light novel series would receive two manga adaptations serialized in "Dengeki Daioh" and "Dengeki Maioh" and in 2005-2006, a PS2 and Nintendo DS video game and would also receive an anime series adaptation by J.C. Staff in 2007-2008 and a movie released in 2007.

A second season titled "Shakugan no Shana Second" was aired in 2007-2008, followed by a four-episode OVA in 2009-2010 and most recently, a third season titled "Shakugan no Shana Final" airing in 2011-2012.

With FUNimation releasing the first two seasons and the animated film on Blu-ray and DVD, the anime company released the four-episode OVA "Shakugan no Shana S: OVA Series" on Blu-ray in January 2013.

"Shakugan no Shana S" features four OVA's with individual storylines that were released four months apart.

True To The Spirit Of Season 2
Shana and Yuji have been through a lot together, but for some reason she is avoiding him. Wilhelmina also notices Shana's odd behavior. Wilhelmina and Yuji are determined to get to the bottom of it. They snoop around and try to get answers from friends, but everyone is in on it. Ogata, Yoshida, Tanaka, Sato, Marjorie, and even Ikei seem to be keeping Shana's secret. Wilhelmina and Yuji think something ig is about to happen, but they may be mistaken.

In another episode, Yuji finds a treasure that causes him to switch bodies with Shana. The 2 of them must find a way to switch bodies again before anyone notices. The treasure has a secret that would cause their body swap to become startling news if it was discovered. The last 2 episodes are a prequel to the first season. It covers a time when Shana was still taking the places of dead humans and had no social skills. They are actually a pretty touching little divergence.

This OVA was pretty much what I expected. These...

The Bill Engvall Show: The Complete Second and Third Seasons

Loved this DVD set!
I can't believe this show was only on for three seasons, but I'm glad it was finally put on DVD.

WARM, FUNNY SHOW
It's a shame I only discovered this show after it had gone off air but I've
now seen and enjoyed all of the episodes. This somewhat reminded me
of 'Home Improvement' in that the laughs were plentiful, family based
and never slapstick. Bill Engvall is a very funny man and the rest of the
cast are uniformly excellent. This is the kind of family I think everyone
would like to be part of - and legendary Brian Doyle Murray (as the old,
irascible neighbour) and Tim Meadows (as Bill's best friend Paul) only
add to the quality. Fans of goo family comedy won't be disappointed.

FUN FAIMLY
I HAD NOT SEEN THE SHOW, BUT WAS ON JENNIFER LAWRENCE IMbD, (FILMOGRAPHY) SO OFF TO YOUTUBE , WHICH AFTER A SHORT TIME I ORDERED BOTH DVD'S AND REALLY ENJOYED. SHARING WITH FAMILY

Guns - The Evolution of Firearms - Blu-ray

Interesting but too American-centered
This program is well-made and quite interesting, particularly its five first episodes which cover the period through World War I. Unfortunately, the last two episodes which deal with World War II and the modern era are far too centered on American guns to the exclusion of almost all others. While it's understandable that, because of the ever expanding variety in types of guns, a progressively greater selection must be exercized to remain within the duration of the hourly episodes, this does not explain why precious minutes should be liberally expanded in the anecdotal description of the combat performance of certain weapons while other important types of guns are completely ignored. For example Episode 6 which covers World War II provides a (far too) lengthy description of the combat performance of the M-1 Garand, but does not even mention such ground-breaking weapons as the British Sten and German MP38/40 from which modern submachine guns are derived, or the the German Sturmgewher...

Great care was taken to keep the visuals authentic and accurate
There was a clear and consistent effort to be as accurate and authentic as possible in the creation of this DVD series. The historical recreations are intense, layered and detailed with great care in the special effects and historical truth and authenticity along with the powerful voice of narrator Coby Batty and other voice actors help to bring these stories of how firearms have been used and developed (thru use in war and the military) to life for a mass audience - from ancient chinese invention of gunpowder thru the middle ages and the new world, to the American Revolution onto the Civil War, WW1 and WW2... Vietnam era to the invention of the two biggest weapons of our day -- the AK-47 and the M-16... to today's War in Iraq and Afghanistan. Three historical experts comment during all 7 parts of the series.

What a quality Dvd information excellent product , love it thank you very much history a understatement there's everything here in the DVD and what a price wow !!!

RuPaul's All Star Drag Race Uncensored

BEST SHOW
I love this show. I gave it 5 stars because it never disappoints. Each episode is consistent in format but always surprising in content. I would recommend to any open-minded person looking for a great reality tv show to inspire and entertain them.

This isn't the LOGO version
Drag Race is always fun to watch. But be warned, it's profanity laced. There's no censoring like on the LOGO versions. It's full on Drag Race. The queens are so emotional. I cried a couple of times watching the series. And boy did I laugh a lot. Guest judges include Mary Wilson and Cheri Oteri. Kelly Osbourne stops by for a challenge too. It's all so much fun!

Eleganza Extravaganza
Some fierce queens. Rooting for Latrice Royale, Jujubee, and Manila Luzon. I wonder how Ru is going to decide amongst such polished incredible men/divas

Idiot Abroad: Series 3 [Blu-ray]

Great Show!
Warwick Davis is upbeat, sarcastic, and full of life. Carl Pilkington is a wet blanket. Put them together you have a snarky, understated, travel comedy featuring a veery unlikely pair who aren't even friends. I can't wait for more episodes. Also, if you like this watch Warwick Davis' Mockumentry (created by Ricky Gervais also) "Life's Too Short". I can't get enough of either of these shows!

Less A Journey, More A Brief Excursion
Another enjoyable, but too brief, turn at the 'Idiot' series. The twist, and you knew there had to be one, is that Karl is paired with a mate this time around.

To finish off the reported absolute final in the series, the intention was to go out with a bang. And to address that, our man had requested a traveling companion; obviously hoping that Rickey would join him in a not-so-subtle attempt to embarrass and humiliate his primary tormentor.

Cackling Gervais had other plans.

Bridging seasons two and three, Warwick Davis, the actor from 'Willow' and a host of other films, joins Karl on the Marco Polo Route. You might recall it was he whom Karl had called from the final scene in Season Two's finalé in China.

His reaction upon learning who would be accompanying him: "I don't know how it will work out, honestly. Edmund Hillary had that Tenzing fellow, Ben Fogle had James Cracknell. I've been given an Ewok." Incredibly, said right in front...

Another great effort
Pilkingtonian. If you're familiar with "The Ricky Gervais show" or previous seasons of An Idiot Abroad, you know what you're getting. Karl consistently blows my mind with his simple, yet often times insightful world view. Note that this season is shorter than the previous two (as is his traveling companion, Warrick Davis). Warrick's sunny demeanor only serves to show what a curmudgeon Captain BS is

The Men Who Built America [Blu-ray]

Enjoyable but some historical details are distorted
I generally enjoyed the show and how it ties together the stories of the various robber barons of the late 19th/early 20th centuries. But I was kind of irked at how some of the historical details were distorted. For instance, they got the whole Homestead strike/battle wrong. If you just watched the show you would think that the Pinkertons just walked up to the striking steelworkers at Homestead and opened fire. Historically, there was a battle in that the strikers themselves were armed too. The Pinkertons were trying to land in barges and were actually forced to surrender! Why change that? I don't think it was for any political/ideological reason that I could tell. But it's like they tried to simplify things so much that it actually distorts what happened. It makes me wonder what else in the series is not quite the way it happened. I realize in making a show about such a large topic that you can't throw in every detail but in trying to oversimplify it, it does a disservice to history...

The Men who built America
I was browsing the channels when I happened across "Men who built America" on the History channel and I figured it was just a documentary and to my surprise it is more like a mini-series with action and plots. I was entirely taken in with the story line and am I am buying the DVD to see the parts that I missed. Well worth the cost of the DVD

The Men who built America
This was an excellent program detailing not only the good, but the bad of the era. We forget what America was like in the late 1800's and how far we have come. Education like history never ends. When we fail to remember history, we certainly will fail again.

Toriko: Part 1

YAYYYY
My family and I love this show! Sometimes it is difficult to find an anime series that will appeal to everyone, but we've found common ground in Toriko. My children and I absolutely love it, and we always have snacks when we're watching. Just as a warning, do NOT watch Toriko on an empty stomach or no snacks in the house, you will get hungry!! One of my sons started eating a wider variety of foods and trying more types because he wants muscles like Toriko. While my youngest son said he doesn't want to eat healthy because every time Toriko's muscles grow his shirt rips apart and falls off, and he said he doesn't want his shirts to rip O_O

Exciting
Glad to see this dubbed.also it's an opportunity for others who've never watched the series to pick it up and start watching. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this series on my computer having a hard copy of this will be great.

Worth owning!
Unexpectedly great, I like the over-the-top power that the characters possess. The artwork is bright and the environments look delicious.

Maria Watches Over Us: Season 3

Slowly-paced, dramatic series - but worth the patience.
Maria Watches Over Us Season 3 is much like the previous two seasons of Maria. The show is very leisurely, and very "feminine." There isn't a lot of action. Lots of talking. No sword/gun fights, explosions, or gratuitous fan service here. Look to My-HiME for that.

Maria, however, is a very carefully developed, well-written series. It exists entirely in its own dimension, it's very overdramatic - i.e. failing to make a good impression on another character could be the end of the world. The artwork, as in the previous two seasons is excellent, and the soundtrack is refined. Calming, classical compositions that fit the mood of the series perfectly. The voice acting is also wonderful. The specials are a nice bonus, but they aren't as good as those of the previous seasons.

As with the first two seasons, the dilemmas faced by the characters involve one another, and Yumi, the protagonist, is constantly fretting over pleasing Sachiko. Season 3 is much more focused on...

Drama, sisterly/motherly, friendship/love
Trust me if you want a good clean wholesome story buy this. Great for adults/young adults. A must see for a drama fanatic.

Warning this is only in Japanese with english subtitles, but like I said earlier it is well worth it.

Family friendly series
The series is all about friendship and the strong bonds between students who take up a role in being someone's "sister". Good show to watch, family-friendly.

True, some of the plots are a little corny and trite; true, the eighties-style wardrobe can get a little garish; true, some of the sets aren't the best; however, the acting and the dialogue amply make up for any trivial shortcomings antagonists of Scarecrow and Mrs. King can contrive. Wedded Genius [HD]

Season 3 is still a joy to watch
My girlfriend and I both love watching competitive cooking shows, partly for the dramatic nature, and partly because we end up learning about interesting techniques and ingredients we might research and use later. In Season 3, Ron Ben-Israel has re-upped his judging standards compared to Season 2 to around the level in Season 1, though he has retained his zany, nearly insane persona. One episode in particular has stuck out so far: Wicked Genius. The competitors in that episode were all high-profile, award-winning chefs. It was refreshing to see the creative and gorgeous plating done by Francesco and the others, when plating is typically lackluster technically, or just unpolished (due to time constraints) even if the flavors are good. Fantastic episode, which actually makes some of the following episodes almost disappointing. I hope there are more like it. Overall, a great show, and a pretty good season.

Love Sweet Genius and Chef Ben. Good learning for 'sportsmanship' based on the participants acting and reacting.
Entertaining series all about desserts. How can you make a desert with black radishes? Cheese curds? Beer? This series will give you some ideas. I think this series is great too because I watch it with my kids and we talk about the good way to compete (as in "wow, her plate looked good but I still think I have a good chance" instead of "well, her plate looked good but I am sure mine tasted better" or when they get 'released' the difference between their reactions "I'm disappointed that I made that mistake (or that Chef Ben thought I didn't transform the ingredient well, etc. etc.) but it was great to be given the opportunity to be on the show" versus "I think he made a mistake and I didn't deserve to be cut because ParticipantX did such-and-such-thing wrong". Honestly, I like that part of the show as much as the content itself.

Always good and entertaining
Sweet Genius is my husband's and mine favorite show! Chef Ron is a quirky guy with a heart of gold and always makes his shows entertaining!

In Which We Say Goodbye [HD]

A mixed bag of emotions
I've loved Addison since the first time she appeared on Grey's Anatomy and I've been watching Private Practice since the first season. The show has had it's ups and downs but I can't deny that I was addicted to the show. The series finale aired today and I'm bummed that we won't be able to see our favorite docs every week now. Since the last season only had 13 episodes, here's a brief synopsis of each:
1) "Aftershock": We get to see who Addie chose (Jake!), Sheldon gets news that he might have cancer, Charlotte tells Coop that she's pregnant with triplets and we get to know Pete died while he was out on a run.
2) "Mourning Sickness": This episode was kind of Violet-centric but other characters sufficient got screen time as well. Sheldon deals with a man with sexual feelings for a little girl while Violet throws a party as Pete did not want his loved ones to get depressed but nonetheless Violet finally bursts out towards the end of the episode when she scatters Pete's ashes...

Wish there were more episodes
This was an outstanding series that my wife and I had been enjoying for the past several months. I highly recommend Private Practice.

Excellent show
This show is so addictive. You are rooting for everyone to be happy and for everyone to live. The characters draw you in

Too Dumb? Seriously?
We must not have been watching the same show then. Totally heart-warming and stupid funny. I could not stop laughing. This guy is truly gifted. Another Steve Carrell in my opinion. He's a little bit Chaplin, Stiller, Carrell and Keaton, all rolled into one. (must be crowded)
Dakota Johnson is a breath of fresh air and Maggie Elizabeth Jones (think, 'We Bought a Zoo) is simply cute and very good. Another Fanning sister, with red hair and curls. And another last name. Details, details.
Seriously, I truly hope this gets picked up because I will totally watch this.

Good show....
Although, I just read today that it's been cancelled...which is a shame 'cause I was just starting to get in to it.

Blood-C: Complete Series (Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

pretty good
As someone who actually bought the anime and actually have it on hand, I can honestly say it's not a bad show. A lot of people are complaining about censorship when they only watched it streamed and not the actual blu ray. That's like complaining about how horrible the quality of the show was on the internet stream and not actually watching the blu ray release. What makes Blood C different from Blood (which I didn't care for) and Blood + (which I enjoyed) is that this one was produced by Production IG and Clamp while Blood and Blood + were produced by Production IG and Aniplex. If you like Clamp, then more than likely you will like Blood C, if you don't, then you probably won't. The same tall, lanky, long legged characters are all here and it does feel like you're watching more of Card Captor Sakura than an actual Blood anime. I like Clamp so this didn't bother. The production value is high and the artworks are gorgeous. This series is only 12 episodes so it's not very long. About 75%...

Not the best "Blood" animated series made...it was average at best.
Back in 2000, the animated film "Blood: The Last Vampire" was released in theaters and released in the United States.

The animated film set in 1966 was focused on a vampire named Saya who hunts down bat-like creatures known as chiropterans. The animated film would eventually lead to a manga series "Blood: The Last Vampire 2000″ and three Japanese light novels plus a video game.

In 2005, a 50-episode anime series titled "Blood+", an alternate timeline would be featured and would focus on an amnesiac named Saya Otanashi who lives the life of an ordinary school girl. Until she is attacked by a Chiropteran and finds out that she somehow can fight against them and is the only one that can defeat them. This leads to a storyline with Saya, her family and friends trying to rid the world of the Chiropteran and her starting to remember her history.

In 2011, a new anime and manga series was created by this time by the famous manga creators, CLAMP. The...

Movie coming..
So with all the reviews that are out there so far, I can't help but notice that nobody has really said anything about the movie. Now perhaps I am wrong but what I have read about the movie (it hasn't been subbed as far as I know) is that it picks up right after the last episode. So it really seems that despite the series lacking in story line or any of the other issues that it does have, I am not fighting that, it seems that CLAMP is trying to do what Blood the Last Vampire didn't do, which is to give you that back story. And that is the way I have seen Blood C going. I watched it knowing that it was more or less a pre-story for the movie and while it is gory (someone said it was like Elfen Lied, it is that gory but not as.. revealing if you catch my drift) and there are the highschool drama moments (which Blood+ did have a few though they were more teenager drama) I think it was still pretty good. I guess the difference is how I watched it knowing the movie was coming instead of just...

Because You're My Sister [HD]

Stellar
Well balanced vignettes between the various ensemble casts. This episode takes on tough issues with reality and grace. My heart hurt for Crosby and Jasmine, the vet who could not find his way, the parent trying to connect with his adopted son, the photographer easing into a more open relationship world. Beautiful, tight writing (not an extra word anywhere) and beautifully acted. An excellent example of television at its best.

An Excellent Show
Parenthood is a series about 4 adult siblings, their parents, and their children. Each character occasionally faces realistic difficulties and mistakes which they all try to face with honor and dignity. And through which they are supported by the rest of the family. Every character is so likable that I love spending time with all of them and am sorry when each episode comes to an end.
Everything about this show is excellent, from the acting and directing to the scenery, costumes, and production values.

Best Show on TV or DVD
I believe this is the best show on TV today. It really reflects what everyday life is really like. I have watched the entire 3 years of shows and caught up to the current season but I will go back and watch past episodes for many years to come

Almost Naked Animals: Welcome to Banana Cabana

love the show, but I wish there was more on this DVD
Don't get me wrong. My three-star rating is nothing against the show itself. I love the show (well, maybe what I should say is that I enjoy MOST of the episodes I've seen, and I've seen most of them). Since the last batch of "new" episodes, though, the show seems to have disappeared from Cartoon Network. That's too bad! (Maybe a not-too-distant schedule change will bring them back! They HAVE gone off and come back before!) Those wacky skivvy-clad animals crack me up (usually), and I'm not even a little kid, except maybe at heart! Granted, they can be a bit gross and "off-color" at times, but it's usually not enough to really bother me! So far, there seems to be only two Almost Naked Animals DVDs out there, this one and It's My Party, and each one only has six episodes. I bought this one instead of It's My Party because it has all episodes that I like. I would have liked to have more than six episodes, though (hence my three-star rating). Leapfrog: Adventures in Shapeville Park

Pretty Good But Very Basic
Good video for teaching basic shapes to toddlers and preschoolers. Introduces the handicapped dog Dash and "Beaver Brothers" (construction workers who help the other animals solve problems.) Leapfrog always has a way of teaching children multiple lessons at once. The key lessons here, other than shapes of course, are equality and including all of our friends when playing. The friends use shapes to make the park accessible and safe for everyone. I find the songs to be slightly less grating on a parents nerves than some of the other Leapfrog videos (as great as Numberland is some of those songs can get stuck in your head for days). Overall it's a pretty cute movie and I don't regret buying it. I feel like your child could very quickly learn the basic shapes if they can already count to four. It kept my son (he just turned two) captivated for the whole duration of the video. Even though he has difficulty pronouncing the names of the shapes it is clear that he grasps the concept and...

Another great Leap Frog DVD
My two year old loves this one! It is so appropriate for her age, it goes over shapes and counting. Just what I was looking for!

More shapes please
It is an ok video but really it should focus more on the shapes! This video is trying to teach too many things at once. Could be better

Part Three: 1854 - Emancipation and Victory [HD]

Couldn't stop watching
I loved this series. I caught myself watching even when I was really supposed to be doing other things. If you love good historical documentaries, you'll appreciate this one!

Every American should learn the black history.
Recently, I have retired and went back to college, the teacher had required reading narrative of Frederic Douglass's life, thanks to the teacher had chosen this great book of Abolishing of the slavery history of America! This is a great video. I will encourage my grand children to watch....

Humanizes the people who fought for emancipation
This video brings to life the people who, at great personal risk, struggled to bring an end to slavery. William Lloyd Garrison, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and others are portrayed in this video as they fought the institution of slavery, and in some instances fought among themselves about the most effective means to achieve their goal. Language and content may be too intense for younger viewers.

Madness Ends

This show is great. We've needed a good "horror" show on TV for awhile now.
Season two of the American Horror story anthology is shaping up to be a "wtf" thrill ride. Well, not an edge of your seat roller coaster ride where you pee your pants or barf in your own face, but more like a nervous passenger in the car while your recently immigrated relative drives on 405 with their new license. You might be thinking, well...that doesn't sound pleasant, but to people like me who like this crap, it is very enjoyable. It is nice for once to not know what the hell is going on in advance, what to expect from the characters, to rely on the same song sung by a different singer over and over and over again in television and movies gets old quick. It's usually always the same damn dribble recycled, and that thankfully is not the case with this show.

Having a show where boy meets girl is not the center of the plot is nice as well. I can't recall a series where there is more than one "bad guy" and added to that developed characters you get sympathy...

most disturbing show I have ever watched!
AHS is, by far, the most disturbing show that has ever been aired on cable and the only show I watch religiously. Even though I spend half the time watching through my hands, I absolutely love it and can't get enough! Wickedly AMAZING!

Watch this NOW!
One of the best shows I've ever seen! Not for the faint-of-heart but soooo addictive. Once you start watching, you will consume the whole series like popcorn. Great acting, great story, don't miss it!

Pilates Superbody Home Programme 7 by 5 minute session

Highly recommended
This video is super. Well explained, easy to understand, and very effective, Victoria Bristow's Pilates Home Programme is impressive. She inspires you to do the exercises by breaking them down into bite-sized lessons to do everyday. You will find, as I did, that you will gain strength, muscle tone and energy, as the love handles begin to diminish. The key to getting results with Pilates is doing it accurately and often, and that is usually very tough without an expensive instructor. But this video is so well explained that you don't necessarily need an instructor, and the lessons are broken down into chunks for those days when you don't have enough time to do a long session. Definitely recommend it!

The Young Riders Complete Season 3 Gift Box

TOP RATED SHOW FOR DVD RELEASE --- & the reason for season 2 delay (now rectified)
This show was very popular with an extremely loyal fan base while airing. It was once rated the most highly anticipated DVD release of any TV show. Unfortunately, after the first season release dissapointed in sales, the original distribution rights holder decided not to risk any further investment. We appear to be saved by the new company and I look forward to receiving my copies of each season.

Show cliff notes: Set just before the American Civil War, this series presented a highly fictionalized account of the heyday of the Pony Express. Its focus was a group of young Express riders based at the waystation in Sweetwater, Kansas. Running the station was ex-Texas Ranger and all-around eccentric Teaspoon Hunter. The role of cook, housekeeper and mother hen was filled first by Emma and later by Rachel. The riders included the future "Buffalo Bill" Cody and James Butler ("Wild Bill") Hickok, as well as Ike, a mute, Buck, a half-White/half-Kiowa scout and the Kid, a quiet...

Season Three! But Suggest You Watch in Correct Order.
Finally received this item, but I thought I would update my review. Hope this helps!

First of all, it's been a long wait. But we're getting closer to the full series being completely available on DVD. Thank you TGG Direct! The only problem is that the episodes are slightly out of order. The fact that the episodes are out of order by no means detracts from the fact that Season 3 is FINALLY on DVD. But, it might help to watch them in order for continuity (especially if you're an Ike fan or if you are a Kid and Lou shipper - last disc in particular). I've included a list of how the episodes originally aired on ABC. Enjoy!

1. A House Divided
2. Jesse
3. Blood of Others
4. Between Rock Creek and a Hard Place
5. In the Presence of Mine Enemies (Ike!)
6. Survivors
7. The Initiation
8. Just like Old Times

finally have season 3 on DVD, and looking forward to season 2 SOON!
While it isn't entirely true to the reality of the product, I gave this a full 5 stars because just having the complete first and third season available on DVD is fantastic, It's been a long time in coming and I can't wait for season 2 to finally make it to DVD.

The discs all play well, images are sharp enough, considering it was analog, film mastered and not digital. Sound is excellent, and I've had very few incidences of pixelation or hang with the DVDs. I kind of like the "chocolate box" packaging, even though it isn't standard. I don't love the front to back disc storage inside, but used carefully it should be okay.

However, what would have lowered my rating on the set if I wasn't so gosh durned thrilled it's finally available on DVD, is that TGG could have used a bit more care in putting this together. I need to write them directly on these issues, as I hope they do better on re-presses and season 2, when it's finally ready to press.

The Munsters: Season One

The Munsters Are Coming To Get You!
I grew up on both the Munsters and the Addams Family, so I've always had much love for both shows, but when it came down to it, the Munsters was always my top pick. Maybe it was the collection of "monsters" within the family, or Marilyn, or the family's crazy hot rods the Munster Coupe & the Dragula from legendary customizer George Barris, or just the comfort zone of the corny one-liners and family-oriented atmosphere. In any case, The Munsters is definitely classic in every sense and now it's here on DVD!

The set's package design is somewhat inspired. The outer box opens "coffin-style" to reveal the disc-holding "digipack" inside, as the flipped-open box top has the table of contents on it with only the episodes plus the unaired pilot listed. The episodes are spread across 3 double-sided discs. Here's a list of the season 1 episodes:

The Munsters Unaired Pilot
Munster Masquerade
My Fair Munster
A Walk on the Mild Side
Rock-a-Bye Munster...

Finally The Munsters on DVD!
I am overjoyed at the prospect of owning The Munsters - The Complete First Season. This series has been and probably always will be one of my all-time favorite television shows. I can still remember growing up watching the afternoon reruns on WPIX from New York.

The Munsters was created by Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher, the same team that brought Leave It To Beaver to television. Beaver was the quintessential American family sitcom of the late 50's - early 60's. Connelly and Mosher helped to establish all those nostalgic family sitcom cliches we've all come to love (or hate) in Leave It To Beaver then they went on to totally parody them in The Munsters. The first season opening credit sequence of The Munsters is a great example of the way they parodied the typical family sitcoms of the time. You see Lily Munster, housewife and mother, sending her brood off for the day in the same manner June Cleaver and Donna Reed did. Lily hands each of her loved ones their packed lunches or...

Entertaining, Inspiring, Heartwarming and Educational
I have purchased this set as a gift for a friend who was mentioning for the past several months how much he'd like seeing these episodes again. As I read some of the reviews posted here, I was concerned whether these DVDs will play properly and was delighted that the set I purchased through amazon.com played perfectly.

Having seen these episodes for the first time now (with my friend) I found the series both entertaining and heartwarming and was happy that the episodes are also geared toward instilling ethics and moral values. Whatever challenges the heroes of these episodes may be facing, they always act with integrity, and even though the main character - Herman Munster looks like Frankenstein and is rather clumsy, his good nature makes him a very lovable character. He is a wonderful example of what makes a human being worthy of love and respect, regardless of the physical appearance and whatever quirks one might have.

Testimony of Two Men

EPIC star-studded post-Civil War mini-series
FINALLY on DVD after 36 years. This restoration of the 36-year chronicle of Taylor Caldwell's film-adapted Post-Civil War story arrives in as good a screen quality and enthralling script captivation as "Roots." Both originated in 1977. One can also compare it to "The Forsyte Sage" or "The Kent Chronicles." A must view for historical drama fans. A nostalgic look at 21 star actors of the 70s.

This landmark production (filmed in 54 days) is perfection in detail of sets, props, costumes - and scandal. "Testimony of Two Men" begins in 1864, a war battle. Civil War Dr. Eaton (Steve Forrest) returns to find his fiancée (Barbara Parkins- `Peyton Place') wedding Adrian Ferrier (William Shatner). Lust lingers amid all types of circumstances in the PA town of Hambledon, Philadelphia, and the world of new medical practice amid a local hospital. One could almost rename it Peyton Hambledon Place.

Dr. Hedler (Tom Bosley) often narrates memories throughout this near 5...

Testimony of Two Men
It has always been one of my favorite books and this miniseries did a wonderful job of capturing the spirit of the story and the struggle between the beginning of the more modern age of medicine over the old hacks who took pride in their dirty scalpels and saws. I was so happy to finally be able to see the miniseries again. Now if you'd only get Amerika with Kris Kristoffersen!

It's about time!!!
I've been waiting for years for one of the first miniseries to come out to finally be released on DVD. I have only seen it on a bootleg VHS years ago in college and it is still better than most other miniseries that have been released way before now.

Wish I could have it for Christmas, but I can wait two more months.

Thank you.

Casshern Sins: Complete Series S.A.V.E.

Buy Casshern... Enjoy Casshern...
"Kill Casshern... Devour Casshern..."

The Casshern franchise is one that dates back to the 70's with 'Neo-Human Casshern', with a four episode OVA called 'Casshern: Robot Hunter' later being released.

Then, in 2008, we got Casshern Sins, a totally different tale from the previous "Save the world/humanity!" themes present in the previous series's.

One day, an amnesiac Casshern awakens to a world flooded with Ruin- humans are dying off, unable to reproduce, and the once immortal robots are falling victims to rust. The world is on it's last legs, civilization as we know it is about to be wiped out.

There is, however, an odd rumor going about. If someone devours Casshern, they will regain their eternal life. And so sets off Casshern's journeys into the wastelands on his quest to answer- what happened to the world? Why is he not yet affected by the Ruin? Why does he seem to have a true immortality that even other robots in perfect condition...

Casshern Is A Visual Gem
Anime has come a long way in the past 30 years or so. Casshern Sins is probably one of the top 3 visually enticing animes I've ever seen. I was completely blown away by this show. Casshern is an android that awakens to a ravaged world full of ruined robots and very few remaining humans. He has no memory, but his enemies all want to devour him and are blaming the ruined world on him. He wanders alone trying to discover the truth and find the meaning of existence. The story is slow paced and very methodical. It has a very downtrodden vibe about it. But it's emotionally heavy and very thought provoking.

The animation is unparalleled and the voice acting is also great. The soundtrack fits the mood of the story perfectly. There are lots of interesting characters in this one as well. I am amazed by Casshern Sins. I can't say it's a favorite of mine b/c of the depressing mood of it; I like animes that are more happy. But ignore my personal preference and check it out. Everything...

A Work of Art
Wow, this series was simply amazing from top to bottom. This is definitely what I would call top tier. Every aspect of this show is well thought out and very well produced. The animation and background artwork is astoundingly beautiful with music perfect for each and every scene. The style used throughout is unique in the way it looks on screen compared to other anime. It is just a treat for the eyes. The story is amazing as well. All of the characters are complete and their stories told quite well. The overall melancholy emotion of the show fits well with the scenery and stories we are given to watch play out and are a proper homage to the 70's sci-fi feel to the show. The journey this series takes a viewer on is intense and yet very enjoyable. Overall this series is a treat in all aspects. The crew that put this together definitely get a thumbs up on this one, as their time and effort are visible throughout. Simply stated, this anime, is not just an anime series, but is a true work...

Days Of Future Past Part 2

Great cartoon adaptation.
We used to watch this every Saturday when we were children, and it's still just as great today! I'm very happy Amazon added this to the lineup.

It has that great 80's cartoon feel even though it was 1992
It's a new day in America and great change is on the horizon. No longer are humans on a linear evolution. Now there is another genetic line within the human species and that line has a great power never before seen. They are called mutants and each mutant has their own unique power. Some can walk through solid matter, some can heal themselves in an instant, and some can shoot energy from their body with a single thought. It is a variable smorgasbord of mutant possibilities and it has those of the old genetic empire up in arms. No longer will humans stand by and allow mutants to go unchecked, and it is fear that breeds their quest to register all that are different.

One of those who no longer fit into the human category is Jubilation Lee, an average teenage girl with an unbelievable gift. But, unfortunately, it is that gift that makes her an outsider and a target. Humans have targeted many mutants for their registration rolls and no doubt they would like Jubilee to be on...

Really fun series
I used to watch this back in the 90s during high school. Maybe I was a little old for cartoons then but it was a well-done show that based a lot of episodes around some of the best comic story lines at the time. Lately I've gone back to watching the episodes on occasion mostly for nostalgia. Still fun to watch an episode here and there.

Southland: The Complete Second, Third and Fourth Seasons

it's great -- and look at the bright side!
This show is fantastic and for all the reasons others have said.
Now with regards to packaging all 3 seasons 2,3,4 in one set,
yes our first impression is that those of us who bought season 2
are not happy with buying it again. And after waiting years for
season 3, why can't we buy it separately?

But there is another way to look at it. The first is price:
at $40, this is actually less than the price of buying both season 1 and 2.
So, we are getting an entire season for no additional charge.
Furthermore, as opposed to the DVD-R manufactured on demand character
for season 2, Warner is actually treating the series with the respect
it deserves by producing 2,3,4 in the normal way -- which, important to me,
means that it has subtitles both in English and French. (Part of the appreciated
gritty realism of the show is the on-location shooting, which loses some of the
dialog for me -- so, I want the English subtitles.)...

Southland Season 2, 3 and 4 review
This tv show is the most realistic take on an LAPD officer's daily life. The style is real and gritty. The action has a specific pace that feels real. The acting is superb! The amount of episodes are small per season, but thats what makes it worth-while! Too many episodes can make a series boring, this show keeps your interest whole. If I had to pick a favorite season, it would be season 3. If you have seen the movie End of Watch, you are not seeing a realistic take on LAPD. This is where you will find it! This is The Wire's side-kick!

Gritty, Realistic, Thrill Ride
Southland is one of the best cop shows ever to air. It's got that immediate sense of danger that comes from hand-held camera work and well-executed, fast-paced action (it's not all frenetic, head-achy camera work, though; it's used to good effect). The plots are intelligent and at times surprising and even brutal. The characters are well-developed, and their personalities, back-stories and situations will stay with you, even haunt you the way certain characters or scenes from The Shield were able to, which is probably the show I would most compare it to, though Southland is not about the anti-hero. It is similar in that it is one of the only shows that will leave you bolt-upright and riding an adrenaline rush right up to that last second--and then you can't believe you have to wait for next week (or next season) for the next episode. I think Sons of Anarchy is the only other show currently airing that has this effect to this degree. Again, though, Southland is not about the...

Nosferatu: Del Rey & Sun Kings

The sun'll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

This is a Chronicle of the great Death in Wishborg 1838

The original story is as old as the Carpathian Mountains. A real estate agent Knock (Alexander Granach) gets a mysterious request from a far-off land; Count Graf Orlok (Max Schreck) is in need of a new abode. He sends his best man Hutter (Gustav v. Wangenheim) to seal the deal. The mysterious being, Nosferatu, has nefarious purposes that will seal more than the deal and in the process is attracted to a tasty Mrs. Hutter (Greta Schroeder).

This is the 1922 F.W. Murnau's silent German classic adaption of Brahm Stoker's Dracula. The movie follows the book little closer than today's movies do. There were a few necessary changes. I believe that was the nature of movies around 1922. Max Schreck did an excellent job of playing the deviant snacker.

Although no variations can come close to this original film, many people think of...

Sister Wives season 4 episode 1
I'm so happy that i was able to watch this episode of Sister Wives. I used to have cable but, i don't anymore. I am glad Amazon has videos like this on their website. I really like the Brown family. They are just getting settled in Las Vegas in their homes around Christmas time. I think everyone will enjoy this episode!

season 4
I started watching sister wives because I was bored. However they won me over and I couldn't stop watching until there were no more episodes. At least they know who their husband is sleeping with when he isn't with them. Unlike most traditional marriages where one of the spouses cheats. I love their large family and hope they can get the four houses.

Great Show!
I love this show! I don't have cable, so I bought this season. I have always liked Sister Wives, but the more seasons there is and the better the viewer gets to know this family, do you realize, that this family is so full of love. I do not condone the polygamist lifestyle - however, you need to stand neutral taking into consideration that they all grew up within polygamist households. This is their life. This is what they know. I actually like Cody, and I can really see that he cares about each and every wife as if each wife was his only one. What amazes me, is how well all the sister wives get along with each other. Sure, there will be the occasional "bump" and I'm sure more goes on "behind the scenes" however it does show that they all care about each other, and share the same family values and respect. I think many american families can actually learn about families and how they function. I have a family and although it isn't conventional as I have been married before and my kids...

Just WOW, you have to see to believe
Ok so let me first say i am a tron fan, now that being said this cartoon is one of the best cartoons i have seen in years. It manages to capture and the elements that make a truly great cartoon, the serious moments, the intense action, and the most important part that a lot of cartoons miss the mark on and that the consequences for the things you do. I would more than recommend this, i would say you owe it to yourself to at the very least give the show a try.

As a side note, if you view threw your tv and a surround sound its just increases its awesomeness.

Beautiful aesthetic with some-what provocative story
First off, there is no end to the stunning visual design quality in this series. If you were a fan of the revamped design aesthetic from the most recent Tron movie (Legacy) then you will definitely find something to love in this series. They've given us what that movie did not: a look into the actual living tron universe, and it is amazing.

So, the graphics are Awesome! Now, that said, there's the storyline and character development components. Tron Uprising does a good job of character introduction and relationship development on the whole, The protagonists are empathetically explored in a manner which is, unfortunately, not usually seen in "children's" programming. Where the character development tends to fail is in the development of the cast of antagonists. They are generally rendered as flat archetypes with little, and in most cases no, exploration of motivation or history. There is one notable exception in the lead female lieutenant's character. There has been...

Last Resort Declassified: Epilogue

GAWD what a maxi series
I just saw the last episode of this series just a few minutes ago. I am hoping the DVD is coming out soon. It is too good for TV. This series in a way is like the mini series of old. I watched all the previous episodes on demand today. It was amazing ride

Andre Braugher is amazing as Marcus Chaplin, the captain of the nuclear submarine Colorado. He and his second in command Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) are told to do a nuclear strike from an unsecured line. When asking for repeat conformation, his sub is fired on by another US submarine. It has overtones of Fail Safe with all the political intrigue. The tensions is high & powerful. It does not let up until the final episode...and still there is air of mystery at the end. You wonder who is a friend and who is a traitor, both in the crew of the Colorado and in Washington DC.

The supporting cast including Daisy Betts, Robert Patrick, Jessy Schram and Sahr Ngaujah who adds to this piece so well. It is not a star...

What's Happeing Behind The Curtain of the U..S. Government
Years ago I would have thought this storyline was preposterous. However, today it seems like this could actually happen. I thank the writers of this show for having the guts to feature a commanding officer who is willing to do more than follow orders. It is the responsibility of the officers to follow orders, but to also think first to determine if their orders are coming from an authorized source and if they are indeed in the best interest of America, and not just the agenda of misguided leadership. Great show!

Episode 7 (Original UK Version)

Downton Abbey Season 3 - Great Entertainment
The much anticipated Downton Abbey Series 3 starts in Spring 1920, carrying on from the superb Christmas Special which was set over the 1919/20 holiday period. The first episode picks up with Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley at last about to get hitched, but as usual there is quite a lot going on at Downton both above and below stairs and you just know that nothing is going to go smoothly.

Shirley Maclaine makes her appearance as Martha Levinson, Lady Grantham's American mother. As usual, Violet, played by Maggie Smith manages to set the scene with some rather pithy comments. Martha has no time for the stuffy English and their traditions and is not slow to voice her opinion. Clearly she was introduced as a foil to Maggie Smith and the interplay between the two does work very well as one suspected it would. Violet seems to manage to continue to dominate any scene she is in.

There are plenty of dramatic moments in the new series, as life on the Downton estate...

Surprised and Addicted!
This is NOT my genre. I resisted watching this series despite constant begging from multiple family members and friends. Having the week off around Christmas, I thought... what the heck. I have Amazon Prime, so watching the series was free!

Let me tell you... I watched TWO SEASONS IN THREE DAYS and I am suffering from major withdrawl today! This series sort of treads water for the first two episodes but by number 3 it dives deep and remains there. I was a terrible parent for the last three days while I hid myself in my bedroom with my kindle fire HD and watched this compulsively. WOW. LOVE IT.

Downton Abbey season 3
The US edition of DA Season 3 (original UK edition) is 3 disks, 526 minutes which includes in addition to the 9 episodes the 2012 Christmas in the Highlands as well as interview with Shirley MacLaine and some other behind the scenes specials. Amazon offers the best price (PBS offers $39.99), an even better deal if free shipping. I can't wait until this arrives the end of January! After football season this will keep us occupied for some time! Just thought I would share this info.

Much nicer than they portrayed her in previous seasons. She was probably dealing with a lot, trying to hide the fact that she knew Kelsey was going to leave her. He seemed to be always on her mind, in the last season. She kept talking about him and not being just Mrs. Kelsey Grammar. I think she was tryng to cope with the fact that they would no longer be together. This season, she seems much more balanced and sweet. I am warming up to her.

Adrienne-
By far, my favorite housewife. She is so reasonable. She always tries to mediate between these ladies. She seems to be a positive force. She tries to build, instead of focus on drama. I noticed how she and Lisa seem to be the most successful in business and life and coincidentally are the most emotionally balanced of all the housewives...

REUNION PART TWO
WHERE IS REUNION PART TWO!!! THESE VIDEOS USE TO BE POSTED AT 4AM AND NOW THEY ARE JUST GETTING UPLOADED LATER AND LATER! COME ON!!!!!!!!

Big let down for a finale
The wedding was nice, but it certainly didn't take the place of what I've come to expect, given past real housewives finales. Big let down for me. I guess it was the best they could do given the unusual circumstances this season for the BevHills women (i.e. Taylor's husband).

Judgment Day [HD]

Bamazon another great show of American ingenuity and Spirit
This show is named after a group of Alabama workers (BAMA Boys) who adventure into the Caribbean part of the Amazon jungle at Guyana (an ex British Colony). The enterprise is ingeniously taken by construction business owner Tim Evans. Tim takes his most reliable workers into the jungle no without taking care of the logistics first. He plan ahead of time the equipment, the fuel supply, and the required transportation in order to setup a minning operation in this remote part of the planet. From day 1 his team shows the entrepenuer American Spirit which by my opinion is the strenght of this show. The working conditions are brutal, the environment is lethal, but nothing will stop this guys to accomplis their goal.

Husband liked it
Personally I thought it was just okay, but my husband liked it - and there are very few programs he will sit through on television.

better than most reality shows
This is another gold mining reality tv show. It gets three stars because its slightly better than most reality shows these days. Not great. But maybe a cut above. Its *less* fake than many other shows.

A construction outfit from Alabama goes down to Guyana in South America to strike it rich gold mining. The people come across as mostly competent and authentic. And seeing what happens when they get put in a totally different situation from their normal work is mildly interesting. They also did mostly what they said they were going to do. There was the usual "drama" and maybe it seemed better just by comparision to other reality shows these days.

The lesson at the end, as with all of these shows, is that gold mining is never easy and there isn't much money to be made by small-time operations. But all the same, it was good to see these people try to do something rather than sit around.

Defensive Handgun Training Program Skills and Drills Volume 2

basics of handgun defense
This item offered the basics in the use of handgun defense. I took advanced course which used the same basis as this item and beyond. This item provided the preliminary knowledge necessary to take the advanced course.

Skip book - buy DVD'S
This book was O.K. - but I expected much more on shooting drills and malfunction drills and defensive shooting. I was disappointed.

How Carol Got Her Groove Back [HD]

Amazing show
Reminds me of cheers but with no cable TV language or content restrictions.
My second favorite show after Big Bang theory.

This show gets funnier every episode. Second season also started off with a bang can't wait to see the rest. This show will be a roound for seasons to come

Good Summer Show
TBS has another solid show for the summer. My Boys was really good, but only lasted 4 seasons. Sullivan and Son has some really good actors and characters that have well written scripts. The asian/american lead actor does a really good job with jokes about his heritage. Fun for summer.
